Connectors

Connect external data sources like Google Drive, Dropbox, and Notion.

Connectors

Connectors let you link your existing cloud apps to your Notebooks so your content syncs automatically. Instead of downloading documents and re-uploading them into FormWise, you connect the service once and let FormWise pull in the content. As you update files in the original service, your Notebooks stay up to date.

Available connectors

FormWise's connector catalog includes storage and knowledge apps like:

  • Google Drive - Import and sync documents, spreadsheets, and files from your Drive.
  • Dropbox - Connect your Dropbox account to sync files and folders automatically.
  • Notion - Pull in pages, databases, and wikis from your Notion workspace.

...along with several others - YouTube (transcribe and index videos), RSS/Atom feeds, a general-purpose web crawler, and Zapier (which can push content from thousands of other apps into your Notebooks). The catalog grows over time, so check the Connected page for the current list.

Setting up a connector

  1. Go to Notebooks > Connected in the left sidebar.
  2. Find the service you want in the catalog and click Connect.
  3. Complete the authorization flow for that service - you'll be redirected to sign in and grant FormWise permission to access your content, then brought back to FormWise.
  4. Once authorized, the connector begins syncing content into your Notebooks, just like manually uploaded files.

How syncing works

Once a connector is set up, FormWise periodically checks for changes in the connected service. When you add, edit, or remove content in a connected app, those changes are reflected in your Notebooks automatically. This means your Flows always have access to the latest version of your content without any extra work on your part.

Managing connectors

From the Connected page you can:

  • View all your connected sources and their sync status.
  • Sync now to pull in changes right away instead of waiting for the next automatic sync.
  • Disconnect a service if you no longer want it linked to your Notebooks. Disconnecting removes the indexed content from your knowledge base.

Tips

  • Be selective - You do not need to connect an entire Drive or workspace. Focus on the content that your Flows will actually need.
  • Check sync status - After connecting a service, keep an eye on the Connected page to make sure everything processes successfully.
  • Combine with manual uploads - Connectors and manual uploads work side by side. Use connectors for content that changes frequently and manual uploads for one-off documents.
