Agent
A reusable AI persona - with its own personality, knowledge, and (optionally) connected services - that you build once in the Agent builder and use across your Flows and Suites. Formerly called "Expert." Not to be confused with an Agent node (below), the workflow node that calls an AI model inside a Flow.
Agent Node
A workflow node that sends a prompt to an AI model (like GPT-4 or Claude) and returns the response. The Agent node is the core of most workflows - use it whenever you need the AI to generate, analyze, or summarize text. Distinct from an Agent (above), the reusable persona product.
Chatbot Flow
A Flow type that gives users an interactive, conversational experience. Users type messages and the AI responds in real time.
Classify Node
A workflow node that uses AI to sort input into categories you define. Each category becomes its own branch, making it ideal for intent detection, content categorization, and sentiment analysis.
Connector
A Notebooks feature that links external services (Google Drive, Dropbox, Notion) so files sync into your knowledge base automatically.
Credits
The unit FormWise uses to meter usage. Each Flow inside a Suite can have a credit cost per run; when an end user runs a Flow, they consume credits based on that cost. Credit allowances are granted by the end user's Plan (below).
Date/Time Node
A workflow node that returns the current date and time in a format and timezone you configure.
Flow
The core building block of FormWise. A Flow is an AI-powered application you build, customize, and share - either a Form Flow or a Chatbot Flow. Formerly called "Tool."
Form Builder
The visual editor where you design the input form that users fill out when they use a Form Flow. Add fields, configure validation, and control layout.
Form Flow
A Flow type that presents users with input fields. When the form is submitted, the AI workflow processes the answers and returns a result.
Function Node
A workflow node that acts as a reusable sub-workflow. Build logic once, then drop it into any workflow.
If/Else Node
A workflow node that creates conditional branches based on expressions you define - no AI needed. Works like a programmatic "if this, then that."
Input Variables
Variables defined on the Start node that represent data coming from the user, such as form answers or chat messages. Each has a name and a type (String, Number, Boolean, Object, or List).
Join Node
A workflow node that waits for all incoming parallel branches to finish before the workflow continues. The counterpart to the Parallel node.
Knowledge Source
A Notebooks component. Documents (PDFs, Word files) or website URLs that are indexed so your Flows can search and reference them in responses.
Memory
A Notebooks feature that allows Flows to remember important details from past conversations, like a user's name or preferences, making interactions feel more natural.
MCP Server
A Model Context Protocol server that extends what your workflows can do by connecting Agent nodes to external tools and services. Configured under Integrations.
Node
A single building block in the workflow builder. Each node has a specific job (generate text, classify input, branch logic, etc.). See Node Types for the full list.
Node Output
The result produced by a node when it runs. Outputs are automatically available to any downstream node and can be referenced by name. See Variables and Data.
Note Node
A workflow node used for documentation only. Add comments, explanations, or reminders directly on the canvas without affecting execution.
Notebooks
Your organization's knowledge base. Upload documents, connect cloud storage, and build up context so your Flows give answers that reflect your business instead of generic responses.
Organization
The top-level account that owns Flows, Suites, team members, and settings. Everything in FormWise belongs to an organization.
Parallel Node
A workflow node that runs multiple branches simultaneously. Useful when tasks do not depend on each other and you want to speed things up.
Pause Node
A workflow node that delays the workflow for a specified amount of time before continuing.
Plan
A tier in your organization's Monetization catalog. A Plan grants end users access to specific Suites and Flows plus a credit allowance, and can be offered for free or as a paid subscription through a Storefront.
Set State Node
A workflow node that updates workflow variables with new values, letting you store intermediate results for use later.
Skill Node
A workflow node that references a reusable sub-workflow. Skills are pre-built, self-contained pieces of logic you can drop into any workflow.
Start Node
The entry-point node of every workflow. It defines the input variables your workflow receives. Every workflow has exactly one Start node.
State Variables
Variables created by Set State nodes that store intermediate results as a workflow runs - like a notepad for remembering things between steps.
Storefront
A shareable, optionally monetized entry surface where end users sign in, subscribe to a Plan, and use your Suites. A Storefront adds a paywall and access-control layer on top of a Suite's Flows - see Sharing and Embedding for how it compares to a plain share link. Currently in beta.
Suite
A collection of Flows (and Agents) bundled together as a single package. Suites can be themed, customized, and shared with your team or customers. Formerly called "Toolset."
Transform Node
A workflow node that restructures or reformats data as it moves through the workflow. Use it to rename fields, combine values, or reshape data.
Variable Picker
An interactive UI inside text fields that lets you browse and insert references to available variables from earlier in the workflow.
Version
A snapshot of your Flow at a point in time. FormWise tracks versions so you can iterate safely and roll back if needed.
Webhook Node
A workflow node that makes an HTTP request to an external API or service, allowing you to send or receive data from tools outside of FormWise.
Workflow
The AI logic behind a Flow. You build workflows visually using the Workflow Builder by connecting nodes on a canvas.
Workflow Builder
The visual editor where you design your Flow's AI logic by dragging, dropping, and connecting nodes on a canvas.
